SEMIOTICS LOGO

LOGO SURFACE:

The red bull logo is one of the most recognizable beverage logos in the world. It consists of two red bulls charging against each other in front of a yellowish gold spot.

SYMBOLS:

Two red bulls
A yellow circle/sun

ORIGIN:

The drink and the logo both were created in Thailand for the same purpose it came to America to "give you wings" The name of the drink in native thai translates to red gaur (gaur is an indian bison).

MEANING:

The two bulls represent speed, power, risk-taking, and aggressiveness. The color red can represent: action, adventure, aggression, danger, energy, excitement, love, passion and vigor. The circle could be seen as the sun which we relate to life or energy which  makes sense since the drink is supposed to give you energy/power.

SEMIOTIC CATEGORY:

Indexical: If i had never seen the logo before and was looking at it for the first time I would assume that the product suggests strength. I can almost actually hear the boom! that the two bulls will make after contact.

Iconic: The symbols literally say the name of the brand just by looking at them, two red bulls.

Symbolic: The sign is also symbol because of the yellow circle in the background which most people relate to the sun which we all know represents energy.
